Episode Review[]

The girls and the Berrykin workers are busy preparing their dog park for the upcoming masquerade ball. Berrykin Ed and Berrykin Earl are doing their best to make sure Berrykin Bruce doesn't see their secret project. Meanwhile, Blueberry gets a call from Huckleberry about the invitation. Initially he refuses because of his fear of dancing, but Blueberry promises to be at his side the whole time, to make sure no one asks him to dance. She even jokes that he couldn't get rid of her if he wanted to. Once Huck changes his mind in relief, Blueberry tells him to come at 7:00.

After the call, Cherry and Plum see a mess of decorations in the bush. Seeing Scouty near it, Lemon and Raspberry yell at him. Scouty looks at them as if he didn't do this. Strawberry believes that Scouty may not have anything to do with this, and tells them to hold on a minute as she sees Henna and Chiffon running out of the bush with decorations in their mouths. Strawberry tells the two that they jumped to conclusions, and they apologize to Blueberry and Scouty.

After the girls clean up and continue to set up, they discuss that they have a few details to finish before they're done, but that can wait until the next day. Raspberry chimes in, saying she hopes so because she needs to get her dress ready. Strawberry tells everyone to get a good night's sleep and meet up at the Cafe the next morning. As everyone leaves, Blueberry sits on the bench looking run down, but gets up after Orange asks if she's coming.

The next morning, the girls discuss their contributions for the ball since the decorations are finished: Strawberry is preparing food, Orange is bringing dog treats from her store, Raspberry has masks, Lemon offers to do everyone's hair, and Cherry has music taken care of. Blueberry was supposed to bring welcome signs, but she isn't present at the meeting. Suddenly, Strawberry gets a call from Blueberry, who explains that she woke up with a cold. Strawberry tells her to get well, but Blueberry argues that she is nervous she will let Huck down. Strawberry tells her that Huck will be okay.

To prevent Huck from feeling uncomfortable, Lemon and Raspberry plan to pretend to be Blueberry. Little do they know that they have the same idea. Throughout the day, Lemon and Raspberry sneak around to get blue wigs and dresses for their disguises. Meanwhile, Ed and Earl are carrying a large wooden crate, trying to keep this a secret.

In the meantime, Strawberry and Pupcake go to check up on Blueberry. Blueberry says she's feeling worse, but Strawberry offers her a batch of BeBetterBerry tea. Strawberry explains it always works for her. Blueberry takes her friend's suggestion and has a cup. Later on, Blueberry is up and about. She is beaming with joy and tells Scouty that she's feeling better, and Huck will not be alone at the ball after all.

Meanwhile, Lemon and Raspberry each add the final touches to their costumes before they go to the ball. At the ball, Strawberry is waving to the others, before running into Plum and Orange. She asks them if Huck is there so she can tell him about Blueberry's situation. Meanwhile, Lemon and Raspberry do their best to make their impersonations of Blueberry whenever they come to talk to Strawberry at different times. Their impersonations are so different, it leaves Strawberry a little suspicious. Lemon and Raspberry show up to the party in their real outfits. Once they hear Huck is at the party, they run off in different directions, unaware that Blueberry is also there.

Blueberry is with Huckleberry and Scouty. Huck thinks the park looked like a cool place for a mystery story setting, like a jewel heist at the masquerade ball mystery. Blueberry decides to go and get a pad of paper to write down the ideas, but Huckleberry said she promised to never leave him alone. With Blueberry gone, Raspberry and Lemon in their disguises try their best to make him feel like she is there, but it doesn't work out as expected. As a result, Blueberry and Huckleberry end up having a misunderstanding, and storm off in different directions.

What are they up to?

Berrykin Bruce has been listening to the conversation of the mysteries from Huck, and thinks that he is plotting to steal Princess Berrykin's tiara. His suspicion increases when he notices that Ed and Earl are sneaking around, carrying the large wooden crate. As Huck tells Strawberry he is going home, he gets trapped by Berrykin Bruce.

At the same moment, Lemon and Raspberry both dressed up as Blueberry, accidentally end up in the same area, causing even more confusion among everyone including themselves. Fortunately, Strawberry thinks of a plan. She asks Scouty to sniff who is the real Blueberry, and he goes on a different path and finds Blueberry breaking down in tears because of what happened. Then Lemon and Raspberry show up remove their masks, and everyone are surprised. Lemon and Raspberry explain themselves and apologize. Huck explains to Berrykin Bruce that no one was stealing and he was just chatting with Blueberry about a mystery story. Strawberry confirms that everyone has been jumping to conclusions. They reconcile and the group enjoys the fireworks, which is the "berry top secret" that Ed and Earl have been working on.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first time that Princess Berrykin wears a different tiara.
  • Huckleberry could have seen through Lemon and Raspberry's disguises, had he been more observant: each of them was accompanied by a puppy that was not Scouty, and each offered him a cake which was not blueberry-flavored.
  • Mr. Longface makes a brief appearance in this episode. This is his only appearance in Season 3, and his last appearance in the show.
