Custard

Custard is Strawberry Shortcake's playful kitty. She loves to help Strawberry and the others, and she can usually be found with Pupcake.

Bio

Appearance

Custard is light pink with white dot print to accent her inner-ear, paws, and muzzle. She has a dark pink nose and eyebrows, and her eyes are green. She wears a magenta collar with strawberry ornament.

Technically, Custard's design in Berry Bitty Adventures is a cross between both her classic and 2003 designs. She has the spots from her classic design, and the shape of her 2003 design.

Personality

Custard is very friendly, usually purring and rubbing against others or items she likes. She loves to play around, but she can just as easily settle down for a nap when she knows it's time to take things easy. She's helpful and not temperamental like some cats can be, but she can be a little skittish if frightened or startled.

Sometimes Custard notices things that Strawberry forgets or misses, and draws her attention to ("Strawberry's Berry Big Parade", "Room at the Top").

Unlike her 2003 appearance, she doesn't retain her unique sarcastic personality and as with her 1980's appearance, she only communicates by meowing.

Trivia

• Custard is the only original pet other than Pupcake to show up in this series.
• Custard's name is based on a dish made from milk/cream and egg yolk.
• Custard's bow is in the opposite pattern of Strawberry's hair bow.
• Her meowing is different in "Berry Double Trouble".
• She appears occasionally in the first two seasons. In Season 3 she appears only twice, in the first and the last episodes. In Season 4 she appears very briefly only in one episode ("Berry Double Trouble").
• She and Pupcake are the only pets who appear in all four seasons.
• She appears on the pilot "A Berry Grand Opening", making her the first pet to be introduced in the series.
