Summary[]
The girls prepare for a talent show, and Lemon's desire to win causes her to isolate herself from her friends when they offer to help her.
Episode Review[]
Cherry Jam awakens to loud noise outside of her van and looks to find several Berrykins playing their musical instruments. They have been practicing and would like to hold another recital, but she informs them that because she has to leave soon for a tour to make up for the one she cancelled, she can't.
Meanwhile, the tearful girls are busy packing some things for Cherry and while they are sad, they do not want her to feel bad and stay out of obligation to keep them happy. Once they finish they meet with Cherry as she steps off of her van once more, but she starts to cry and admits she doesn't want to leave yet. The other girls get emotional and they embrace while she promises to return soon. But when she starts the van to leave, she is shocked to see smoke as the engine breaks down.
Berrykin Bruce and his crew come to fix the bus. He informs her that it will take two or three weeks, due to the custom part that must be ordered from Berry Big City Motor Parts. However, Cherry is pleasantly in high-spirits, because she loves Berry Bitty City anyway and wouldn't mind having to stay.
At the Cafe Strawberry is in the middle of tea when the berrykins return and bring up the recital once more. But they are inspired with a new idea and decide to hold a talent show and the berry girls quickly meet up to discuss their ideas. Raspberry decides to play her keyboard, Plum will do a duet dance, and Blueberry will hold on a mini-play. Strawberry goes on to say that her and Cherry plan to sing a duet when Cherry suddenly informs them that a talent scout will be coming to watch. It's then they are reminded about the book club they originally came there to hold, but Raspberry quickly gets them back on track about the Talent Show. Lemon meanwhile, seems to be off in her own little world.
Later that day, Berrykin Bloom sees Lemon with a pretty painting and asks about it. She states her plans to finish it that day- but to her horror she sees that Berrykin Bloom had trimmed the plants she had based the painting on. However she isn't upset, she just decides to put away her art supplies for the time being.
Meanwhile, Cherry and Strawberry are practicing when Orange, Plum and Raspberry come in, with Orange and Plum moving Raspberry's keyboard while she continues to play it. She had come to deliver their costumes and Strawberry asks her to handle the lighting as well. Plum decides to come up with dances for Strawberry and Cherry's performance.
That night, Lemon is busy trying to turn her hair into animals with her next talent idea, she tries a giraffe first, then turns it into a penguin when she suddenly gains another idea; this time to add a scent. It's then someone knocks an she finds Blueberry there. Blueberry remarks on the strange scent and Lemon mentions having accidentally mixing something wrong, then explains her hair topiary idea. Until Blueberry guesses she made a skunk and offends her as she offers to help wash "him" out. But Lemon curtly tells Blueberry it's a penguin. Blueberry explains that she came to ask Lemon for help afterwards, because the berrykins are struggling to remember their lines. Lemon refuses though, because it's a competition.
That next morning, the girls are busy setting up. While the berrykins are moving wood, they accidentally take Raspberry's keyboard but nobody seems to notice it. It's then Princess Berrykin comes by wearing a giant flamingo hat. She explains how Plum ask her to help her with her dance, when Plum reveals she is the humming bird and begins to fly about in the air.
Later, Strawberry knocks on Lemon's door with Cherry and stares in surprise at the odd sight. Lemon reveals her next animal, a zebra. Strawberry asks about scheduling an appointment but Lemon refuses since she still needs to do her work. She closes the door on them and makes them leave.
Sometime later in the day, Strawberry meets up with her friends to ask about Lemon and Raspberry, who have yet to show up. Raspberry is busy working on her dress, while Lemon is still working on creating the perfect animal hairstyle. She is now making a pink
Purr-fect!
cat - tail included. However, she doesn't like it and tries another, this time a blue elephant, then tries a third time until she decides a break is in order and she leaves the salon to find Raspberry in tears.
Upon approach, Raspberry explains that her keyboard has gone missing and she doesn't know where it could have gone. Lemon asks her why she didn't come ask her but Raspberry said that since Lemon has been so busy, she didn't want to bother her. Lemon apologizes and offers to lend her a hand, and they head to the location of the Talent Show to make sure Raspberry didn't just leave it behind. Raspberry shows her the lighting work she did earlier and while the others set up, Lemon begins to feel terrible for not contributing and she continues to help Raspberry look for her keyboard, this time checking the Boutique.
As they look, Raspberry appears to feel remorse for how much time Lemon spent helping her, but Lemon insists she didn't mind, since they are friends. She admires the beautiful dress Raspberry made as Raspberry plays the recording from her performance from the recital- which inspires Lemon with an idea on how she can still perform in the talent show.
Later that evening, the talent show is on way when they see the ladybug talent scout and the show begins. The judges Bookworm Bob and his cousins Bart and Boris are sitting among the crowd. A berrykin yodels, then Princess Berrykin plays her tuba. While Berrykin Bloom is telling his jokes the girls remain in the back to wait their turns and help Lemon with her modeling. Afterwards, Cherry and Strawberry play their guitars together, Orange juggles, Plum swings around the stage with Princess Berrykin, and Raspberry reveals to be holding a special light up modeling show with some help from Strawberry and Cherry while her recital music plays.
After everyone finishes the judging is held: Raspberry places third, Lemon places second, and Berrykin Bloom takes first place for his comedy. Lemon apologizes to Raspberry for not winning after all of the effort she put into her entry when a ladybug comes over to hand Raspberry a calling card. She would like Raspberry to contact her to discuss her beautiful gowns and the episode concludes as everyone celebrates Raspberry's win.

Lemon lets her desire to win the talent show take over everything else, including her friendships. She learns that winning may be important - but friends are more important. Focusing on winning will ruin the fun.
