Sour Grapes is one of the new Berry Girls introduced in Season 4 of Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures. She is the twin sister of Sweet Grapes.

Bio

She might not be the nicest of the bunch, but when the chips are down, she can be a true friend who will wow others with her unique creations and ideas.

Appearance

Although they are twins, Sour shares no physical resemblance with Sweet with the exception of trivial detail; including their skin and lip product color, they both have a purple color scheme, the same purple eyes but with different colored gradient, hair streaks and grape icon. However, her accent colors are darker and consist of green and black to contrast Sweet's lighter colors.

Sour has a green gradient in her eyes and a beauty mark on the corner of the left one. She wears green eye-shadow to accent the thick streaks in her dark purple hair, styled in a messy bob, and the grape cluster on her black headband. Casually, she wears a green and dark purple diagonal striped dress with black quarter sleeve that has a green cuff to match her belt and boots. Her stockings or leggins are white with thin black stripes. On her neck are two necklaces, one with a grape cluster, while the other has beads.

For casual outings she wears a top that matches her dress with a pair of black short-shorts, neon green and black sneakers with purple and white detail.

Personality

Sour Grapes is generally unpleasant, and almost-always appears to be in a foul mood. Her surly attitude pushes other people away and she tends to keep them at arms length, even her own sister. They frequently bicker and at times, she appears to be cold or distrusting of her. She is also blunt, sarcastic and pretty rude, with little sense of consideration for others. She's stubborn, temperamental and tends to blame others when things go wrong. She also has an ego, and takes credit for things unless called out on it.

Deep down, Sour does love her sister though. She would do anything to make her twin smile, and she isn't above apologizing when she realizes how nasty she was/is behaving. After promising to tone it down a little, she is shown gradually becoming more friendly towards the others, but she still has a temper.

Talents

Like her sister, Sour's main area of expertise is cooking. But she prefers to make savory/non-sweet foods.

She has rich imagination and a talent for telling tales, as seen on "Berry Big Tale-Teller".

Relations

• Strawberry: At first, Sour had no problem mocking Strawberry after she got past her initial gratitude for allowing her to live in the Cafe. After she began acting friendlier, Sour does voice her concerns or frustration to her.
• Sweet: Her love for her twin is evident despite their frequent arguments when first introduced. When delighted, she can be very affectionate and kind to Sweet.
• Apple: Sour likes to mock Apple, especially in "The Berry Best Biscuit" where she teased Apple for sampling a dog biscuit, but she began to like her and they become very good friends. In "Hot Sauce Cook Off", together they encouraged Berrykin Bloom to join the contest and assisted him.
• Blueberry: Sour mocks Blueberry most of the time, but she gets ignored by her.
• Orange: Orange is a good friend of Sour Grapes. She likes what Sour cooks.

• She is the only Berry Girl to have streaks or highlights in her hair normally.
  • She is also the only Berry Girl with short hair.
• She is the first Berry Girl to have two-tone eyes, sharing this with Sweet.
• In her first official artworks, she was shown wearing purple lipstick.
  • This makes her the first Berry girl initially not to have lipstick in some shade of pink. The second is Apple, who originally had red lips.
• Sour is the second Berry Girl with work that involves food, sharing this role with Sweet. The first is Strawberry.
• She is the first Berry Group member with a confirmed sibling, as well as the only with a twin.
• Sour is the only Berry girl who talks with an Australian accent.
• Sour Grapes was most-likely based on an antagonist who appeared late in the original series of Strawberry Shortcake. She was an older/adult woman who worked with the Purple Pieman. Sometimes she was his sister.
  • Besides their name, they both have a neon green and purple color scheme.
• Sour Grapes is often depicted on the left, while Sweet will be on the right.
  • This is one way to tell the twins apart if they should make themselves look the same, along with the fact Sweet wears glasses.
• Her favorite sandwich is bok choy and mustard, and trail riding is her favorite sport ("A Berry Merry Birthday").
• She is one of the two Berry girls, alongside Cherry, to have two vehicles: a scooter ("The Berry Best Biscuit") and the food truck.
• She and her sister are the only Berry girls who do not have pets or animal companions.
  • They are also the only Berry Girls who do not show a musical talent.
• She is the third Berry girl who wears boots normally, following Orange and Cherry (who alternates with flats).
• According to the comics, she and Sweet have a cousin named Raisin Cane. Raisin Cane makes an appearance in the 2018 2D Series.
